I love to write
Fantasy
I write fantasy for children and adults. I devoured every book I could find, but my favorites were C S Lewis, George McDonald and J R R Tolkien. I also loved Madeleine L’Engle.
I wrote my fantasy series when my life was very dark. My husband suffered from dementia and couldn’t bear to be separated from me.
I needed a magical world. Modern fantasy was too dark for me to bear at that time. So I wrote the kind of stories I liked to read. I created a world filled with magic and magical beings — a world where poor choices led to guilt and grief. Where self-sacrifice may be the only way out.
Biography
I became a Christian over 50 years ago, and that led to several unusual choices. My husband decided he wanted to live off the land, and off the grid. I wholeheartedly agreed. The land we ended up with wouldn’t grow any crops, and by the time we learned that, we were out of money. After 9 years I moved to town, and the joy I had in my refrigerator and lights was overwhelming.
Once in town I had a chance to teach Bible classes, volunteer for a suicide hotline, teach junior high, and play in the music ministry. My husband moved to town with me. He became a deacon and was unceasing in his work to take care of people in the church. We were both passionate about our garden.
It seemed like my life ended when I came down with chronic fatigue. Overnight I was a cripple. Ten years ago I fought cancer. Then I had a stroke. Constant infections put me into the hospital about every 6 months.
My husband developed dementia and our lives became more complicated. I kept writing. Eventually my husband died and suddenly I had time. He never believed in insurance, so I had no money, but I had time. I taught myself to edit, and the first book is almost ready. I have the final title and now need a cover. I’m currently editing book two. This summer I’ll have book one in print and you’ll be able buy it.
